We are pleased to announce that we have signed a grant agreement for the project: “Biochar as an Alternative to Fossil-Based Reductants in the Production of High-Grade Silicon Alloys.” We are starting work on an innovative technology that has the potential to revolutionize the metallurgical industry through green ferrosilicon (FeSi75) production.
Our Goal: Climate-Friendly Technology of the Future
In the era of energy transition and growing environmental demands, we are committed to sustainable development and cutting-edge solutions. The aim of the project is to develop an emission-free technology for producing ferrosilicon alloys, replacing fossil-based reductants with climate-neutral bioreductants.
What Will This Project Achieve?
✅ Replace coal and coke with bioreductants that generate no additional CO₂ emissions
✅ Completely eliminate fossil fuels from the production process
✅ Use power from our own 15 MW photovoltaic installation, generating approx. 16,700 MWh of green energy per year
✅ Implement production in modern resistance-arc furnaces for high process efficiency
Key Benefits of the New Technology:
⚙️ Increased daily production capacity
⚡ Significant reduction in electricity consumption
🌱 Major reduction in CO₂ emissions across the entire production cycle
Green FeSi75 – A Response to Market Challenges
