We are pleased to announce that Re Alloys has secured over PLN 60 million in funding to develop a technology for utilising by-products from ferrosilicon production and to construct a photovoltaic installation.
The funding agreement for the project entitled “Development of an Innovative Technology for the Efficient Utilisation of Fine Fractions in the Production of High-Quality Ferrosilicon (FeSi) Alloys, Including the Provision of a Zero-Emission Renewable Electricity Source for the Process” has been signed with the National Centre for Research and Development.
The aim of the project is to develop an innovative technology for the complete utilisation of by-products from the ferrosilicon production process, while providing a zero-emission source of electricity to minimise the carbon footprint. The process innovation will be implemented within the company’s own operations.
As part of the project:
A technology for the complete utilisation of by-products from the ferrosilicon production process will be developed.
A 35 MW photovoltaic installation will be constructed, with the electricity generated used in the production process.
The expected outcomes of the project include:
Utilisation of production by-products
Significant reduction in CO₂ emissions
Increased efficiency of the production process
Reduced dependence on rising electricity market prices
Contribution to the transformation of the industrial sector
The total estimated cost of the project is PLN 168,141,974.22, of which PLN 61,623,866.15 will be covered by funding.
The project is co-financed by the European Union under the European Funds for a Modern Economy programme.
